History

The Shiloh United Church of Christ Apostolic ( Worldwide) was started on the 8 June 1968 with 8 adults and 44 children, by the founder, Archbishop Malachi Ramsey.  The church grew from such small beginnings to be established in 12 countries of the world.

Archbishop Malachi Ramsey’s vision was based on St Mark 16 vs 15 –20 “go into all the world and preach the gospel”.  He was mission orientated which gave rise to say he has established many churches abroad, assisting the nationals with his skills and expertise, teaching the Word of God in a practical way and helping them to become self producers even through his own example as being a visionary and a father in the faith.

Due to the care for humanity, he also began a community project called CARE (Croydon Association Race and Equality). Many people have benefited from this project including the homeless, senior citizens, refugees, immigration issues, youth delinquencies and political issues.

Archbishop Ramsey was very intellectual and ambitious and desired to see his generation educated to the highest level.  In so doing, he commenced a correspondence course linked with Sellyoak University in Birmingham.   Being  an accredited  course, many people both home and abroad benefited from these studies.  Some received diploma degrees of which it could be said “we are proud of the achievements of Archbishop Ramsey”.

After being innovative, industrious and a real preacher of the gospel, Archbishop Ramsey decided to step down and pass on the work to Reverend Danny Bennett in 1991.

Pastor Danny Bennett was ordained in 1992 later was elevated to the Office of the Bishop in 2004. And of course, every leader has his own vision. After considerable amount of time and challenges, the church started to adapt to the style and leadership of the said leader, which saw different changes in the total outlook of the gospel concerning infrastructure and presentation. Pastor Bennett built on the mandate and blueprint that Archbishop Ramsey had in placed. Now being the Senior Pastor of The Shiloh Worship  Centre, one of  the fastest growing churches in London Bishop Bennett strive to achieve the vision of seeing the Kingdom of God established here on earth in every area of human lives and began to advance the work in a more strategic way.

Bishop Danny Bennett

Bishop Danny is a family man. He is married to Pastor Lorraine and has three children; Leighanne, Nathaniel and Aaron.

Bishop Danny Bennett has been the Pastor of Shiloh from 1992. He is a dynamic, enthusiastic, contemporary, visionary and anointed man of God. Since his consecration he has moved from humble beginnings to impact many lives throughout the world, with his clear-cut, down to earth style of teaching and preaching the Word of God in many countries over-seas.

He has a heart for the community and has been involved in many community projects that have helped to break down walls of racism and discrimination. Bishop Danny has worked in many deprived and underprivileged areas, touching many lives that have now come to realise the purpose and value of church/community Pastor. He has assisted in the reshaping and redirecting of many young people’s lives from different backgrounds, through his strategic approach and involvement with prison ministries for a number of years.

Bishop Danny possesses some strong attributes and interpersonal skills and is open, flexible and reachable and can communicate with people from all different levels. He has a strong determination and conviction concerning the well-being and welfare of the Body of Christ; to see a closer networking among Churches within the community, irrespective of denomination.

Shiloh is a growing church and is still attracting an influx of people of different backgrounds on a regular basis.

What We Believe

The God Head

We believe in the one everlasting eternal God, infinite in power and holy in nature. That this one true God has revealed Himself as Father in creation, through His son Jesus Christ in redemption and as the Holy Spirit in emanation (1 Cor 8v6, Eph 4v6, 2 Cor 5v 19).

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, in the fullness of time God sent forth His son made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that are under the law (Gal 4v 4-5). That God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself (2 Cor 5v19). That no man can come unto the Father but by and through the Lord Jesus Christ and His shed blood. That the Son of God is the only hope of this world.

Repentance and Water Baptism

We believe in repentance to God, confessing ourselves as sinners, receiving forgiveness through the Lord Jesus Christ and His shed blood which made atonement for sin, witnessed by the definite change from sin to righteousness (Acts 17v30, 11v18, 2v38-39).

We believe that water baptism (immersion) is for all believers and should be administered in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, according to Acts 2v38, 10v48, 19v5. Fulfilling St Matthew 28v19 and St Mark 16 v15-16.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, infallible in it’s original writings.

(2 Tim 3 v 16 and 2 Peter 1v 21)

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the enduement of power for Christian service. That the baptism is for all believers who seek and ask for the same. That the baptism is a distinct, separate and subsequent experience to conversion (Matt 3v11, Luke 24v49, 53, Acts 1v4-8 and Luke 11v13).

Holy Communion

We believe that all followers of Christ should partake of the Communion of the Lord’s Supper in remembrance of His death until He comes again (Luke 22v17-20, 1 Cor 11v23-24).

Gifts of the Spirit

We believe that the 9 gifts of the Spirit should be manifested in the Church today, and that all Spirit-filled believers should have one or more of these gifts for the edification and up-building of the Church (1 Cor 12v7-11).

We believe that Spirit-filled believers will produce the 9 fruits of the Spirit in their lives (Gal 5v22 and 23).

Second Coming of Christ

We believe that Jesus is coming again in person just as He went away. This was clearly set forth by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself and was preached and taught in the early Church by the Apostles; hence the children of God today are looking forward to His glorious event (Acts 1v11).
